Brenda Cisneros Vilchis
Brenda is admitted to practice law in New York State and Mexico. She holds a law degree from the Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey, in Monterrey, Mexico. While she was there, Brenda served as a law clerk in Santamarina y Steta, S.C., where she assisted both Mexican and foreign clients in the incorporation procedure of Mexican companies, their regulatory compliance with Mexican authorities and in other corporate matters. Brenda also worked as a litigation attorney in Acuerdos de Familia, A.C., a non-for-profit organization dedicated to the practice of family law, and as a legal translator in Directum Translations.
In 2012, Brenda came to Buffalo to further her studies and attended SUNY Buffalo Law School, from where she graduated in 2013. Thereafter, she joined the Law Offices of Jon P. Yormick Co., LPA and assisted clients in matters related to international business law. At the same time, she volunteered at the International Institute of Buffalo, helping refugees new to the Buffalo area resettle and find employment.
In 2010, Brenda received the Carlos Francisco Cisneros Ramos award from the law firm Martinez Arrieta Abogados in consideration of her academic achievements. She is also a founding member of the Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey’s International Law Society. Currently, she is a member of the SUNY Buffalo Law School’s Alumni Association and New York State Bar Association, Young Lawyer’s Committee. She is fluent in Spanish, English and has working knowledge of French.
Brenda now handles Workers’ Compensation cases, personal injury actions, Social Security disability and supplemental income hearings and represents individuals in immigration court.
